home from greece

I'm BAAAAAACK!
I worked lots towards the end of my stay and made some really good friends. Greece is a beautiful place and though it took some time to get used to the craptastic hotel and the pervy men of Athens I had a great time.
One night after working two jobs from 8 am to midnight I went out for crepes with a friend and on the way back at around 2:30 am we followed loud music to a party we saw on a balcony, and followed some guys inside. We ended up staying for drinks and dancing until dawn in honor of some dude Costas's 30th birthday! Everyone was like "Are you models?! Who invited you?!" and people were taking pictures with us as if we were famous! The police came at around 4 or 5 to break up the party but right after they left the music was turned up again. My friend had to go straight to a job at 8 the next morning, while I was lucky enough to have a free day to sleep off the craziness.
I went to the acropolis, ate tons of feta, took too many pictures, learned some greek, smelled the aegean air, and enjoyed (almost) every minute.

Now for real, I'm gonna get on this whole blogging thing.

thankful

1) My parents who support me no matter what I do.

2) My friends who laugh at my dumb jokes and listen to my problems with genuine interest and always call me even though I never call them.

3) My brother who makes me laugh so much, and his girlfriend for keeping him happy.

4) My crazy "job" that sends me around the world and gave me the confidence to be myself.

5) Cats, mine in particular.

6) All the genius, talented, interesting, good hearted people who share a piece of themselves with the world through their blogs, work, books, art.

7) My functional brain and curiosity.

8) Beautiful things, natural things, sincere things.

9) Enough questions and puzzles and possibilities to keep us all busy for the rest of our lives.

10) Music, good movies and stories.

What are you thankful for?

Dearest readers,

(who may or may not exist, but probably don't),

Here is a summary of my life at the mo':
Sitting around my house all day long waiting for SOMEONE to send me SOMEWHERE while I watch Dr.Phil re-runs and facebook chat with friends who've moved on to higher education in various corners of the country.

The original plan was to go to Paris after Tokyo but the market is slooooow and apparently I have to build up my book before going to a hugely competitive market like Paris. Which is sad because Paris is tops on my list of places I need to go before dying an untimely death in some sort of freak accident which could happen at any moment.

BUT beggars can't be choosers and apparently I'll be off to Greece soon for THREE MONTHS. Greece is dandy and all but I'm not sure how i feel about that whole "almost-100-days thing," but again, beggars can't be choosers and I'm happy to go anywhere as long as it's not here. In my kitchen. Watching pathetic talk shows (WENDY WILLIAMS???). Eating ice cream from the carton and talking to my cat. In made up languages.

In the meantime I've decided to be done with my slobbery and create a to-do list. Without further adieu, la liste:

1)Learn french.
2)Do yoga everyday.
3)Read all of Haruki Murakami's novels
4)Learn to cook! and bake!
5)Make macaroons
6)Research raw food diets
7)Learn more about Architecture and building design
8)Convert the Basement to a dark room
9)BLOOOOOOG

There it is.
toodles :)

p.s. this is probably a boring, self-absorbed blog. I'm sorry. Here are some cute animals (and little girls) because everyone likes cute animals (and widdle dirls).
